Never Too Late

"It's never too late, it's never too bad, you're never too old, you're never too sick to start from scratch once again, to be born again." – Bishnu Gosh

What an inspiring quote?!!

If you ever feel trapped under black clouds, please remember the above statement. Whether it be getting back into your exercise routine, putting your nutrition back in order, or anything else in life...you CAN start FRESH today, right now. Make that choice, devise a plan, and dedicate yourself to following through and eventually the clear blue sky will break through those dark clouds, and you'll be well on your way to where you want to be!

Go get em!

Always Amazed

I'm Always Amazed at the number of things Pilates has improved in my life!

Yesterday, I went golfing after taking a year and a half off from being on the course. I went to enjoy the sunshine and friends, but to my surprise I played amazingly well! I kept saying to myself before swinging, "navel to spine...squeeze glutes". A few times I forgot to engage my core and zzzzzing...there went the ball into the trees and/or sand trap. That's alright though, because I enjoyed seeing the benefits and difference it makes to have that CORE connection.

A few months back I went home to Colorado and rode my horse after months of not riding. Back in the day, before Pilates was such a priority in my life, my whole body would get sore and I would get tired after a few hours of riding. I was amazed at my ability to not only keep riding without tiring but how much better I was at it! Pulling my navel into my spine, contracting all of my core, using my inner thigh muscles, balance, and every other benefit I've gained from Pilates made riding such a joy...like I was one with my horse!

So neato.

Enjoy Pilates and Enjoy the Wonders of Your Body!

xoxo,
Arielle

Spring is On the Way!!

Spring is quickly approaching and that means warm weather clothing is too! Don't get stressed over the pressure to fit into last years shorts, tank tops, and for some...bikinis! Club Pilates is here to help and support all of you so you feel your best this Spring/Summer season!

Some pointers to kick start you:

* Stay focused and determined but have fun! Stick to your set workouts and add in some extra cardio while enjoying nature. Fast walks on the beach, hiking, bike rides, surf, take a kayak lesson...anything you might find enjoyable!!
* Check in on your Nutrition. Are you realistic with yourself on how much sugar you intake per day? Are your portion sizes double what you may really need? How much are you eating past 6pm? Sometimes a simple food log can really open up your eyes! Extreme diet change is not the goal, but awareness is!!!
* Stay positive when thinking about yourself and your body image. Often when setting out a goal for ourselves, we can start to get critical and/or down on our progress if it isn't instant. Remember, every body changes at a different rate, and loving ourselves always creates positive change faster (inside and out!).

A report by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services stated that exercise is the most important health habit for preventing a variety of health problems ranging from diabetes and dementia to cancer and heart disease. A review by British scientists agreed that exercise reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke, some types of cancer, type 2 diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and depression. You get most of these benefits by exercising at a moderate intensity for 150 minutes per week.(International Journal Clinical Practice 64: 1731-1734, 2010)

That’s just 3 sessions at Club Pilates!! See you soon to continue your path towards a fulfilling lifestyle and continued health!

Love,
The Ladies of Club Pilates
